Yesterday I met a friend at the Flint Institute of Art to see the exhibit Quilting Traditions: The Art of the Amish. It was a visual feast!
Since photography was not allowed we bought the exhibit book. The photography in the book was not that great so we also took notes in the margins on things that we noticed about the different quilts. We found that with just solids fabrics there were a lot of subtle things in the designs and quilting that would have been lost in quilts with prints. We made many notes and are bubbling over with ideas and things we'd like to try.
Thanks for a fun afternoon, Dawn.
I also picked up this great little book at the library book sale this morning.
Now I need more hours in a day so I can try all of my ideas!
